• The current limit of maximum spending by a candidate while contesting Assembly Elections in Bihar is ₹30.8 lakh.

(The Election Commission had recommended a 10% hike in expenditure for all elections to be held during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on this Government has enhanced the poll spending limit for the candidates contesting Lok Sabha to ₹77 lakh and Assembly elections to ₹30.8 lakh.)

• According to data released by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) the unemployment rate in Bihar in September 2020 was 11.9%.

• Pankaj Tripathi has been selected by the Election Commission as the state icon for Bihar Assembly Elections 2020.

• Kanwar Lake located in the Begusarai district has been recently designated as a Ramsar site. It's a natural wetland formed as a result of the shifting of the course of Budhi Gandak and is the first Ramsar site in Bihar.

• Indian origin Wavel Ramkalawan who became the new President of Seychelles is associated with Gopalganj district of Bihar.

• Abdul Bari Siddiqui has been appointed as the President of Bihar Olympic Association.

Monika Das has become the first transgender woman from Bihar to become the first-ever presiding poll officer for the state assembly elections.

• Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Ram Vilas Paswan who passed away recently, was born in Khagaria.  

• Ram Vilas Paswan began his political journey as a member of the Samyukta Socialist Party and was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1969. He was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1977 as a Janata Party member from Hajipur constituency.

Rambalak Mahato, who passed away recently, was the longest-serving Advocate General in Bihar. He remained on the coveted post for a record six times.

Jehanabad district was ranked first followed by Nalanda and Seohar in the ranking of the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Saat Nishchay /Seven ResolvesYojana. 

• Muzaffarpur district has been ranked first in Bihar and eighth in the country in the final report of INSPIRE Awards-MANAK Registration for Children across the country for the session 2020-21.

•Nandan Choubey of Buxar has successfully climbed 5289 meters high Mt. Friendship Peak  in Himachal Pradesh with the aim of honouring the Corona Warriors.

Dr Sahajanand Prasad Singh from Bihar has been appointed as the National President of Indian Medical Association (IMA).

Sanjay Mishra has been appointed as the brand ambassador by the Patna Municipal Corporation to improve its rank in Swachh Survekshan 2021Patna ranked 47th in the Swachh Survekshan 2020 and it was the last among the cities with a population of more than 10 lakh population.

Uttam Prasad Paswan, who passed away recently, was associated with Madhubani-Godna painting.

• World’s largest face mask was installed to sensitize voters in the elections held during COVID-19 pandemic in Patna.

• In the first-ever phone-based Annual State of Education Report (ASER)-2020 survey conducted by Pratham Education Foundation to explore the provision of and access to distance education mechanisms, Bihar stood a laggard state with just 7.7% of the enrolled students received learning and activity materials.

• Among 20 states that have been allowed by the central government to raise ₹68,825 Crore additional debt from the market Bihar has got ₹3231Crores.

• For the safety of women passengers, ‘Meri Saheli’ program has been started in Vikramshila Express train.
