• Indian Railways introduced first Kisan Rail from Devlali (Maharashtra) to Danapur (Bihar).

• Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has laid the foundation stone of Digital Training and Skills Centre of National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) at Muzzaffarpur’s MIT engineering college. This centre will be developed at a cost of over nine crore rupees.


• MIT Muzaffarpur has been selected for the best project in the country in the Smart India Hackathon.


Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour in Bhagalpur district has been conferred with SKOCH Gold Award this year.


•CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated Bihar-Jharkhand’s largest animal feed factory in Bihiya in Bhojpur district. 300 metric tons of animal feed will be produced daily in this modern animal feed factory.


• Bihar’s filmmaker Manish Vatssalya movie The Scotland is nominated for Oscar contenders of 2020 in the Best Feature Film Category.


First online market of Bihar has been opened by women’s group Jeevika in Bhagalpur district.


• Bihar’s home delivery of seeds to farmers’ model associated with agriculture has been instructed to be implemented in whole India.


• 25% subsidy will be given to Farmer Producer Groups (FPOs) for setting up agro-based industries in Bihar.


• Central Univesity of South Bihar, Gaya was ranked best Central University in Bihar with a rank of 15 in the list of 40 Central Universities.


• 500 bedded corona hospitals are being built by PM care Fund in Patna and Muzaffarpur.


• The foundation stone of Film City in honour of the late film actor Sushant Singh Rajput has been laid recently in Sultangaj of Bhagalpur district.


• Bihar’s second zoo will be built at Forbesganj in Araria district and after completion, it will be bigger than Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park, Patna in terms of area.


• Bihar government planted 3.47 Cr saplings against the target of 2.51 Cr during this monsoon season.


• Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal Nischay Yojana scheme of Bihar will be presented in the G-20 conference.


• Har Ghar Nal ka Jal and Pakki Nali Gali Yojana schemes of  Rs 33716.51 Crores were inaugurated by CM Nitish Kumar in the last week of August 2020.


Swachh Survekshan 2020

  • Munger got third place in the Ganga Town Category in India and remained at first place in Bihar in the Swachh Survekshan 2020Varanasi topped the list in India.
  • Gaya is the dirtiest city in the country with a population of up to 1 million according to Swachh Survekshan 2020.
  • Patna ranked at the bottom of the Swachh Survekshan 2020 list; it was ranked 47th among the clean cities of the country with a population of more than 1 million.
  • Bihar ranked 12th with a score of 760.40 in the Big States category i.e. States with more than 100 ULBs. Chhattisgarh topped this list.
